Background
Open Access has become central importance to
advancing the interests of researchers, scholars, students, business, and
the public as well as librarians. Increasingly, research institutions require
researchers to publish articles that report research findings openly accessible
in open domain.
Open
Access pursues to yield scholarly publishing to spread knowledge and allow that
knowledge to be built upon. Price barriers should not stop researchers from
getting access to research data. Open Access, and the open availability and
search ability of scholarly research that it entails, will have a significant
positive impact on everything from education to the research practice in various
fields.

Centre for Internet & Society (CIS) as Knowledge Partner is organizing a
half day seminar on Open Access in Research Areas: a Strategic Approach” on 22
December 2015 at TERI Seminar Hall, IHC, Lodhi Road
