Workshop on Creative Librarian 2.0

Greetings from TERI!

This Creative Librarian Blog is an outcome of our recently held workshop on Creative Librarian 2.0: Connect, Collaborate and Share Knowledge Using Social Media Platform.

Abstract of Workshop
TERI- Library and Information Center with support of DeiTY, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Knowledge Partner with Digital Empowerment Foundation organized the event at TERI, India Habitat Center, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The main objective of this event was to sensitize the library and information science professionals on the usage of social media in popularization and brand building of respective libraries.

The workshop programme consisted of a mix of lectures, presentations, hands-on sessions, case studies, and discussions. The sessions dwelt on topics on unleashing creativity among librarians,
-How to start with social media,
- dynamics of social media management,
- building social communities and engaging user with social media,
- managing digital presence & social media,


Apart from these several case studies where social media tools are extensively used for promotion and outreach purpose. A case study of TERI, World Bank and British Council were presented to the participants. A case based discussion was held on Amazon, Apple, Facebook and Google that how they have penetrated in the social media market. 

Apart from resource persons from TERI, experts from Google India (Mr Ashwani Sharma), IIT-Delhi (Dr Arpan Kar), World Bank (Dr Sudip Mozumder ), British Council (Ms Neeti Saxena , CEMCA (Dr Ramesh Sharma), Ms Meeta Sengupta  and DEF got engaged with the participants in interactive sessions.
A three member jury was conducted, which include Ms Anupama Jauhry, Head-TERI Press, Dr PK Bhattacharya, Fellow & Area Convener TERI Library and Dr Neena Jha, Programme Director DEF, to select the most Creative Librarian Team award. Team Instagram was selected as the most Creative Librarian’s team on the basis of their performance on various practical sessions.
